Red face idea on what these parts cost??

I have a 99 dakota club cab sport.. 85K orig miles....its been squeaking a lot lately and had it looked at by my mechanic, seems its the bushings/bearings in the front need replacing....they said they have to drop the front end to do this and then have to align it again when done.....i got a call from mechanic today, he has the truck, didnt do anything to it yet cause after going over things it seems ball joints need replacing too, so may as well wait til june when its time to get inspected, cause it wont pass inspection with bad ball joints and bushings, REALLY?? didnt know that...so it would need upper and lower balljoints, can anyone give me an IDEA of what they would cost?? then of course the bushings/bearings for front end.....and then inspection while there...so between parts and labor and then having to realign front end, he is saying with labor itll be well over 500 probably more in 1000 bracket.... i believe they are like 75 bucs an hr in labor something like that, they are good people but at times i think he is exp. when it comes to parts and how he marks up for customers....anyways, anyone offer up and feedback?? thanks

its hard to say w/out knowing what bushings need replacement
plus not knowing the vehichle 2 or 4 wh drive.ect..
if we are talking about lower control arm bushings(probobly most $$)
then i'd agree 1k for everything(up/lower bj's, bushings, align)
but that leaves about 9 or so hours in labor which is alot considering
the labor time will have over lapping times
call a few places including a dealer to compare prices

Good luck

Re: idea on what these parts cost??

Look in the web sites for autoparts stores like:

www.oreilys.com

www.napaonline.com

www.autozone.com

At least you will get a idea of what parts cost.
