Thumbs up

Racer and everyone else.....this is my assessment of the HKS Electronic Torque split Controller I fitted last month.
I finally tested it at the track last weekend and this is my "official" finding. It SMOKES. Period!!:frog:
Well, I've been bitching about my GTR coming out of tight corners like jelly fish. This time ...no more. After emptying the boot by removing the sub woofers and spare wheel, I adjusted the torque 30:70 and pumped in half litre of HKS octane booster into 50 litres of fuel. The GTR hugs the tarmac like glue in those corners. NO understeer and power oversteer when coming out of them! There was absolute control of the steering and wheels that I went faster around those corners then before. Tested 35:65 but there was understeer coming into the corners while 25:75 the tail was a bit too happy. On my tires (265/35/18) 30:70 was just perfect! Ate up 2 Supras, various ricified Hondas and Mits on the track. But a Lotus Elise Sport 190 left me standing! The driver was really good....his cornering was always 10kph faster tham me!:zx11pisse Hey...that's life....On the way to the track....my GTR ate up a Carerra 4.....twice!:finger:

Cool I was thinking about getting that for burn outs at the track. Can you make the setting 0-100 for the burn out?

Also, did your car have the factory speed limiter(112mph) on it when you got your R-33? Mine still has it and I learned that the hard way.

How much was it? Where did you get? How long did it take you to install it? Thanks Tony

Sweet. Mine is supposed to be on it's way but it's taking HKS a hell of a long time to diliver it. How long did it take to get yours R33?

SkylineUSA: If you go to www.motorex.com it will have all the prices for what they sell.

Cool

Hi everyone, I ordered mine from the local HKS distributor here. It took about 3 weeks waiting for the shipment (it wasn't urgent, so it was not air delivered). Cost about the equivalent of USD 760. Instalation was about USD90. Left the car for about 2 hours and it was ready.

Nighty, after the ETC is installed, you'd have an option to hook it up to another piece of HKS electronic - I think it's a drag controller or something..... It cost about USD 180 over here. Using the ETC, you set the torque ratio between front and rear tires. For burnouts or drags, you than use the drag controller to set the speed at which you want all the torque to go to the rear tires. Imagine a quarter mile run - let say the torque is 30:70, and you set the whole torque to go to the rear at say 50mph - when it reaches 50mph, your gtr will suddenly leap....:flamer: My friend recorded 4.2 sec on a 0-60mph run using this stuff!!

Thanks R33,

So was it worth the $850 you spent? That is way cool, how do you adjust it, with a knob? Were there install instructions? Thanks again

Yes. There are nobs on it. But R33 says they feel a little on the cheap side. Anyway, was it easy to install? I might be able to do it my self.

If it's electrical, or mechanical I am going to give it a shot to do it myself. I will not let an inaminate object kick my butt, I reserve that right for my wife.

Sky, lol....you're so funny. You sure your wife's not mechanical? My wife's electrical when she's angry. But when she sees a diamond ring or a Piaget she also goes electrical
I think it's quite simple to instal. It comes with instruction but as usual it is in Japanese! If I am not mistaken, it requires some connection to the GTR's G sensor. In operation, the etc override the G sensor. That's about it.

Cool

Racer, have you received your ETC yet? If you'd installed the ETC, tell me how you feel about it and how it changes the handling of your R33.:bandit:
