I'm the pph and I'm the proud owner of a 2001 ebp prelude sh and I ran a stock 1/4 with 1000 miles on the odo to see what she's capable of and got a 15.5 I want bolt on info that'll make her a 14 second monster and stay street legal no forced induction or NOS - gotta stay N/A!
---------- 2001 SH EBP will be running 14s and be flashy doing it and I'll have all the info listed in the future for now AEM CAI |

you'll need I/H/E pulleys, plugs, etc... or turbocharge it with a drag gen 3 turbo kit
or supercharge it will give u like 5.3 0-60 and around 14's on 1/4 mile...depends on your budget Hey u have pics of your lude? ---------- People say my tail lights look good...hmmm maybe its because thats all they see |

Well you know the methods:
Forged, high compression pistons and rods (go for 11:1 or even up to 11.5:1), check with Endyn first, and Arias/Crower as back up options (some Endyn piston sets require boring your cylinders first, a costly step...), some Jun or Toda cams, along with of course an solid IHE combo as justin suggested. With these, some dyno tuning, and a solid break in period (at least 5,000 miles), you should get your 14's. However, I am personally a fan of FI, which would be a quicker and cheaper recipe for speed (not to mention some torque!). You sure about staying NA? Edited by: JD@af |

Let me get this straight, you call a 14 second timeslip fast? Hell my mustang will run low 11's to high 10's on motor, high 9's with the blower. I'm not trying to dis your car, but 14 in the 1/4 is not quick.

Yes, 14 second times does NOT make it a 'monster'.

14 seconds is fast in a Honda
And the Prelude is capable of 10 second timeslips too but that's not the point - my car is great looking and it's a sleeper 4 cylinder VTEC motor 100 Horsepower per liter - can't get that from a domestic V8 from the factory!
anyway, I won't flame because I would much rather have a Honda than a Ford - I could get a Cobra for what I paid for my 2001 Lude and run 13s. What I want is a car that people like to look at but is surprisingly a lot faster than they'd expect - Justin can agree with me on this! I'll get my pictures on here soon enuff my fellow honda lovers - I still have'nt seen another Electron Blue Pearl type SH since I got mine only base models with the same color!!!!! VTEC surge is quite impressive and I can get my car to 60 from zero in about 6.5 seconds..... |

I don't really care what your Mustang does in the 1/4 either, 14 is not fast by any musclecar standards, but Hondas are not designed to go that fast and besides, 14s is enough to beat most cars on the road - I run low 14s and have beaten stock 4.6s w/o troubles
If fast 1/4s was the idea, i don't think he'd ever buy a Lude in the first place. It's all a matter of preferences and priorities. i'd rather have a light nimble 16 second car than a bigger american 12 second car - my preference.

Of course Pimplayahustla
I agree with Pimplayahustla...i'm not for all speed...otherwise i too woulda got a z28 or mustang...but i'm looking at no only speed, but reliability and looks...Now i'm not dissing on the mustang b/c everyone has their own taste and for me its just not with the mustang...I also love the fact that Honda has a good reputation with reliability and not many factory recalls.
All i can say is i love my Lude and it grabs me ALOT of attention around the University especially since there aren't that many but i do see mustangs like crazy.

That's what I like to hear
fact of the matter is - we could go buy an F-Max turbo for our motor and get a nasty Spearco intercooler and aftermarket ignition - you name it and it's available and with those type of components one could easily put down 500hp or better not with the torque of a beefy V8 but hey we can rev to 8400 rpm with a ECU upgrade! My car will be a quick sleeper - even with the exhaust I'm gonna stick with the natural flow of the Lude and get a DTM style dual - hopefully the one from DC will be alright and then I'll change to a different muffler that resembles the stock dual as opposed to the DTM wich bends upward and can turn your bumper black from carbon smut! Justin is definately in the house with his 98 Prelude and I'll aid you in anyway I can with aftermarket goodies - I got my AEM for $180 and I'm getting a DC header for $260 I had a DC exhaust before that I paid $450 for installed but I doubt I can get that good a deal again! $105 for cam gears and $140 for the full set of pullies. $100 B&M fuel pressure reg with gauge! might be better to get AEMs new one though - MSD wires for $60
Denso Iridium spark plugs for $70 and let's not forget the NOS race additive for your gas tank - that's 3-5 horsepower gain over your normal powerband - tight as hell huh?> Justin what University do you attend? |

If only your mustang looked as good as the new preludes. And they can go too, with a bit of tweaking. And i'm betting you don't get the fuel milage he gets either, do you? Thanks for coming out, but the prelude's got my support.

All I know is that if i was to stick two 2.2 h22 honda motors together which would make a v8 like your mustang and Fararri. my 4.4 liter would kick the c*ap out of your 4.6/5.0. It would probably beat your overpriced Fararri!

well only if you had one in the front and back, casue if you didnt the weight distribution would be wayyyy off! lol... but yeah if honda felt like making a v-8 and made their body of all carbon fiber i bet it would out compete any car almost... plus an s-2000 competes (0-60) with a 200,000 dollar ferrrari 550 maranello.. they only do like 4.6 sec times and its a v-12... ive heard in the car magazines of 4.8 0-60 times with the s-2000
