FWD drifting...ughh

theres this retard with an RSX that claims he was drifting. i know he wasnt, cause i bet $1000000 he was just sliding around on the snow. i told him FWD cars are near impossible to drift, if possible at all.he said theres no diff. between drifting FWD and RWD. so i got some favors to ask of you guys

1)can anyone list some reasons why FWD cant drift? (or can they..?)

2) can anyone tell me why RWD is better than FWD at drifting?

3)can anyone explain what drifting is in "moron words" i know what it is, but this retard thinks any kind of turn with sliding or tire squeaks is a drift.

thanks alot guys

1. FWD cant drift because their power is going to the front wheels... that's all there is to that.

2. RWD is better at drifting than FWD because you cant "drift" in a FWD car so therefore RWD is better at drifting.

3. Drifting is taking multiple corners without having traction the whole time, but controlling your sliding motion with the throttle to control the speed of the rear wheels.

all your friend is doing is ass dragging. Tell him to go take 3 corners at once with no traction and then he can call himself a "drifter". do me a favor... smack your friend in the back of the head and tell him he's a fucktard

what happens when you drift is your back wheels (the ones that receive the power) aren't gripping the road and hence are spinning, which is why your car is able to slide sideways. if the wheels WERE gripping normally, the car would just shoot forward and wouldn't drift at all. in an FWD car, since the power goes to the front wheels, when it throws the ass out on a corner, all the back wheels are doing is just dragging along. the front wheels have all the power, and aren't spinning, so there-fore it's not a real drift, the ass of the car is just being dragged along. hence why we call it ass-dragging. not real drifting at all.

In a magazine i remember reading about that, and it said that a RWD car can use every drift technique possible,i think it was 8 or something, and that FWD cars can only use 1,the E-brake.

thanks taranaki has pmed me a couple times asking me to change it because supposedly any avatar of a women is not allowed, even if they arent showing anything innapropriate for this website. If those are the rules then those are the rules and I wouldnt have a problem changing it. The only thing is that there are still a number of other members on here using girls in their avatar and if they can use them, then I can too

Well... i FWD car can drift, and some pretty crazy at that

Theres many techniques used for drifting, and the easyest definition of drifting would have to be

"To cause a vehicle to exceed its tire’s limits of adhesion, exhibiting a lateral slip, resulting in an oversteered condition. "

and although there may be only 1 or 2 ways of "Drifting" a FWD car, ( eg, E-Brake Drift" it can still be done to have the same effect.

I think most of you are thinkin about "Power Sliding" a little bit too much.. which is another type of drifting. Loosing traction to induce oersteer by overpowering engines.

For some more info on drifting and techniques
