Forgive me, I'm stoopid...
What are the differences between a JDM angine and a USDM engine?
![]() And, what's the deal with the RHD setup vs. LHD setup? I'm toying with the idea of swapping a B20 into my Civic and a 4G3ET (turbo Eclipse) into my Mirage. Both of these engines have JDM counterparts. Somebody break it down to me please...

JDM spec engines can sometimes run more compression, some are unavailable in USDM vehicles e.g. B16A1, H22A powered Type S, while ECU's are generally calibrated for higher octane fuel.

Is that it!? Alright, thanx guys...
Is it safe to say that most JDM engines (+ trannies) have less mileage on them? I had read somewhere that they forfeit their cars earlier than us... or something... Help!?

Well the diffrence for example between a Prelude Type SH(USDM) motor and a Prelude Type S(JAP) is that the Type S motor has diffrent pistons and cams.
