Tensioner Pulley meaning
Ive been looking online for what the tensioner pulley actually does...Only found the removal and installation on it. Can someone explain exactly what a tensioner pulley does and why its important?
Since I've gotten the engine swap the mechanic said that the tensioner pulley has to be changed asap. Thanks for the comments and help! |

Re: Tensioner Pulley meaning
The tensioner pulley is designed to maintain constant pressure on the serpentine belt so that the tension stays correct. Because there is some movement in this type of belt the tensioner maintains a constant tension so that the belt remains tight. Without it the belt will not stay in place and will fly off the car. Not a good thing.
