Insane Project

After a long time without build nothing

The Kit:

Testors Vantastic. Very funny to build and very cool after finished...

From Instruction Sheet:

The Vantastic represents a marriage between a ’35-36 Ford sedan delivery panel truck and a slightly later ’37-38 stylized set of Ford fenders. A highly stylized grille picks up some design influences from a ’40 Ford.

After that I´d started saw a lot of pic and get some material from both:

1.) '35 Ford Sedan

2.) Wesley Rydell '35 Chevy Master Sedan - Grand Master by Chip Foose

Body started

I´d use 3mm sterene to reinforce the body structure

Cut off 7mm from roof and use 1mm stirene to lift the rear.

So I cut 5mm stripes from botton and put in upper.

All 4 stripes...

To a strongest joint I use 1mm stirene.

Tools: Hasegawa P.E. saw, Tamiya cement, reference pics, 9 hours in 2 days.

I hope you like it

Re: Insane Project - Phase 1

I see it more being inspired by, rather than a replica of Foose's car, mainly since the Grand Master was a Chevy, not Ford.

I love this SO much Ceasar! I can't wait to see more!

Re: Insane Project - Phase 1

Thanks guys!!! I don´t know if a going to the replica yet... Now looks more a Chevy then a Ford.

I smooted all... started from inside with my Rotary Tool.

Outside I would a 35 Chevy looks, so I use #180 and #220 grit block sand.

Rear looks different yet

I cut off more plastic...

I hope you like it!!!

To tell you the truth for us to like it is a good thing, but what really matters is that you like it. it's your baby not ours as long as your proud of it. we will like it.

Re: Insane Project - Phase 1

Thanks guys!!!

That is 1st result

I won´t use putty for these mods, so I use styrene rod... Before I did a little sand on jointed areas.

Apply the styrene.

After cure I did block sanded w/ #220 grit .

I hope you understand and like it. Feedback are welcome.

Thanks to see.

Re: Insane Project - Phase 1

Looking great Boss! Thanks for the how to on seamless seams. I've used similar methods to fill small holes, but never body lines. I'll have to give it a shot. I bet there is little to no ghosting when using this method.
