Another lowering thread
I am getting Eibach Pro Kits for my 96 civic. I was no planning on buying shocks, since it's only 1.5", or a camber kit for that matter, but I've been reading these posts lately, and it looks like I am gonna have to. My car has 90k miles on it and has been very well taken care of. How long can I go without getting shocks on these new springs? And should I even get shocks and camber kits? And what shocks to get that aren't too expensive, but at the same time comfy and adjustable?

That's hard to say since shock wear can be affected by: road conditions, seasonal conditions, how hard you drive, how long you drive, what springs are on the car, etc....
But basically most OEM shocks will not last long with aftermarket springs. And my honest opinion since you have the suspension apart already might as well invest in some performance shocks. A 1.5" drop you shouldn't need a camber kit. As long as you rotate your tires perdiocially and make sure you get an alignment after you install your new suspension components.

ok, so what kind of shocks should i get?
i live in CA, in a very residential suburban area. smooth roads. no snow. |

For a good price the Tokico Illuminas are a good start. But if you can afford to get the Koni Yellows - you will not regret it.
