Brush Garud
Hey everyone whats up? I got one question.... Do you think I should get a brush garud for my 00 Xterra. Its a RWD X and I was wondeing If I should get one. I am not going to go serious off-roaing like the 4X4's and I am not trying to make it look like a 4X4... I was just wondering If I should get one even thought my X is not a 4X4.
Thanks for the opion!

What do you want it for? Looks? Functionality? Reality is, the brush guards made in most cases do not protect the vehicle from anything. In fact, they can do more damage to the vehicle than good. But if your truck doesn't go off-road and it is strictly a look, go for it. If you have thoughts of functionality, don't bother with it because it is mostly useless in that area.

Looks bad, damages your truck, costs $5-600.
Probably the most compelling reason to buy it, is that you have a 2wd. Staying on the roads will minimize the chance of it damaging your truck. Really, every grocery getting SUV out there has one and it just looks silly since you know they'll never go offroad. Save your money and buy a nice stereo or something. |

A lot of people have this misconception that brush guards protect, but they don't. You get better front end protection from a hood deflector! If you're thinking of it that way your best bet is to put your money into things that will help you avoid a mishap like better tires, better shocks, etc. If you want to mount lights just drill holes in the top of the bumper.
Don't worry though, adding one will not make your tuck look like a 4x4...quite the opposite actually.
