Reverse

My daughter tells me that if she stops her '89 Precis that she has to put it in reverse before she cuts the car off or she cannot get it in reverse when she restarts the car. Can someone tell me what's wrong and how do I fix it?

Common problem...

Time for a new clutch. Might as well get a new throw-out bearing, too!

Re: Reverse

If that don't seem 2 cure it, then it could well be your gearbox is going. By slipping the car into 2nd, it will then be possible to pop her into reverse, prob revolves around the synchromesh. That should buy you a bit of time. Good Luck
