When I put my 96 aerostart in reverse it takes seconds to reverse?
Just like the title, when I put my 96 aerostar van in reverse it takes seconds to start going, what do you think is the problem? It has 145,000 miles, and it doesnt do that in any other gear, could the tranny be going bad?

The weak link in that trans is the reverse/high clutch I used to rebuild one of these a day. As the clutches wear you will get excessive play in the clutch pack and that can cause that. Also the reverse servo seals could be getting hard. We leave the spring off the reverse servo when repairing these and that helps the delay a little. What is the color of the fluid?
