there are many things to consider, though the year is a very important one. you need to look at price, miles, condition, and other things. would you like to be able to transport more than one other person is a good example. they are both pretty similar in the ways of speed, but body style is another thing. we need more information if we are going to have a chance at answering this question.

well the integra ls is a 1998 with 39k miles, and the del sol si is a 1997, with 42k miles.
the del sol si is SOHC, and the integra is DOHS, what is the difference? is one better than the other?

both the cars are going to be very similar in the ways of reliablity and speed. i have a sol, while my friend has an ls integra. the biggest difference is that he has a back seat and i dont. that means he can hold more people and crap than i can. other than that, the cars are made by the same people, and doing anything to them is very similar. they both drive the same, and are both the same in comfort level. you are going to have to decide for yourself on this one.

SOHC = Single Overhead Cam meaning you only have 1 cam gear.
DOHC = Dual Overhead Cam mean you have 2 cam gears.

If Im not mistaken a stock DOHC motor will have more torque.

a DOHC will have more torque (generally very little though) and, depending on which motor it, is either a little or a lot more horsepower. if you are comparing the motors of the si and the ls, then the numbers are going to be different because of difference in the number of camshafts, but also in displacement. this difference in displacement, .2 litres, adds a very noticeable amount of torque, and the horsepower follows.

I've had both these cars, my Integra was an SE the only difference is leather. I really liked both cars. I'd say the Delsol was a little bit quicker and handled a little bit better. On the Delsol I had Iceman intake, Greddy exhaust, Field vtech controller, Intrax springs, Koni adjustable shocks, advance timing, and removed power steering belt. On the Integra I had advanced timing, removed power steering belt, Ground Control coil overs, and Koni adjustable shocks. Both are great cars, if you want a convertible the choice is easy. If you want to be able to take more than one person with you go for the integra. The B18 has more potential but the D16 is also a very good motor. You cant go wrong with either one of these cars.
