Okay so one day when I actually get a car I can reasonbly brag about, that being a 98 240SX, I am going to get an engine swap on it. My main idea was to get a SR20DET S16, but that is really common thing to do, so I was think it would be pretty bad ass if I put the enigine that is in the Skyline R34 in that S15 240SX...now that would be original, or at least I think. Would that work? if so how hard would it be to get that thing in there?

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...threadid=56217 people haves asked this many times i would not recommend doing this swap if one youre 15-16 just got your license 2 dont know shite about driving 3 thing that you can pay someone to do the install because theres not a lot of people out there that can. sorry if it sounds like im being rude or giving you attitude its just that in the past 2 months ive had a lot of new drivers asking me about the swap

Okay well number 1 I knew about the S16 not being a model, its called a typo since it seems you know it all. number 2 none of your three little helpful hint subject things apply to me because I have been driving for almost five years so I do know some shit about driving not to mention driving a race car before but thanks anyway chief. And the chances of me actually doing that anyways are slim to none, but I though it would be pretty kick ass. I will probally just get a SR20 S14 engine in it combined with a nice turbo, so that should put some kick in a cars step. One more thing, Since you know a lot...where could one find like the rear clip or even just the taillight conversion kit of a S15 Silvia b/c those tailights look I hell of a lot better than the 240s, I know it would be a lot of choping to it but it would look a lot better.

once again i did say at the end im sorry if it sounds like im being mean because i get a lot of people asking me stuff about my car and bring up stuff that they heard and know nothing about it also they want to do all this stuff and dont even know how to drive. also i knew nothing of your driving expeirence thats why i said i wouldnt suggest doing any of it if... as for the s15 tail lights you dont have to get the whole rear clip of the car check on ebay a while back ago someone was selling the full housing and extra set of blubs. you can try bomex dont know if they still carry the kit they did about a year ago also send me an email and ill ask a friend of mine if he can get it for you. the most expensive part of doing the tail light conversion all the custom work you prob already guest it my friend did his it cost him 1000, and then the lights cost him 600

ohh I know I was just joking with you, there are a lot of young drivers that have these big dreams of doing all this stuff to there car (that they havent even bought yet) and when they realize how much it cost and how much there insurance is already they end up just getting a four door Honda Civic and put some rims and a air intake on it...Thanks for your help

can be done
Yes can be done.. need to get the sump from the rb25det and the mounts are slightly different too. These are the main things I think, can't remember now. But it's quite a project and in the end is it worth the money. U can get a sr20det and a bigger turbo and it'll be cheaper and less hassles and less time off the road too.

Hi im new here, this is my first post.. I kind of stumbled upon this site while searching for info...
I plan to do this swap in the near future, so I will let you guys know How it goes During, and after the process if you guys like. If all goes well, I will be using an RB26 from a 96' R33. Going into a 96' 240sx LE. |
