Forced air....
Hey guys and girls,
How many of you out there have turbo's on your cars? Which one do you think is the best one. what kinda of boost can I expect from it? I would probably keep it at a low boost for daily driving. but anyway, what do you guys think? |

Hi,
Although I don't have boost... yet... i am planning to do so in the future... i am thinking of getting the greddy turbo setup for my car which is 50 state legal and provides a pretty good amount of boost (i'll keep it low for daily driving anyways). What kind of car do you have?

I got a 97 DX Coupe. It's got about 60,000 hard miles on it, so if I did get a turbo, I would prolly have to get a full turbo kit to make sure the car doesn't die on me. I'm not even sure I wanna do turbos, too much upkeep. I got a Tenzo exhaust and intake right now

As long as the engine is in good condition you shouldn't have any problems... and if even the engine fails you can always get an engine swap or rebuild it... :sun: .... that's another cool thing of having a honda.
i watched this video [Import Lifestyle #2] where they installed a Greddy Turbo on a GSR and shows you what is entailed into doing it. You can go supercharger for lower maintenance & up front cost ... read this article... this'll explain a lot of stuff : http://www.geocities.com/eyores1/page1.html :frog: :grey: :licker: :licker: :smoker: :flash: :sun: :smoker2: :smoka: :bandit: :alien2:

Well, maybe for the pirce of the supercharger, I could get JDM type R engine, then later, when I got more money, I could get a supercharger or a turbo, but I don't have too much money, (I'm in college right now) So I can just dream. lol

IMO- Im not boosted but I too have been looking into it.. doing lots of research and what I have found is this..
If you dont want to run much boost on an everyday driver get a Greddy Kit.. It runs about 5 lbs of boost you dont need a Intercooler unless you are having problems getting your Air/fuel ratio tuned. If you look around you can find the kit for about $1600 w/o intercooler. I would make sure you have a good clutch to handle you new extra power and you may want to upgrade ignition and fuel to help against detonation(you should do this no matter what type of major mods you do). If you are running good (tuned well) with the stock boost then you could look into getting an intercooler and raising boost a couple more pounds to about 7-9 lbs. You could probably go higher but I feel you will be risking it on stock internals, but thats just my opinion. The Greddy kit will hold about 15 lbs of boost safely.. You could also look into FMAX, DRAG, etc. Turbo Kits. But I feel you get a very good kit for the money..
