Taisan Starcard 911 GT2

I have to say this is probably one of my best paintjobs so far. Model is box stock with the addition of an aftermarket harness. Rear fender decals are still a bit wrinkly from the Microset, but they should straighten more as they dry.

comments and suggestions welcome. I'll get better pics as the project moves ahead. Thanks for looking.

Re: Taisan Starcard 911 GT2

im working on that one right now. the body finish on yours is fantastic, is that rattle can or air-brushed?

i really like the colour you have the tailpipe / heat exchangers, i went with a dark gunmetal on mine.

also i really overdid the paint on the rear deck and spoiler as well as the under lip piece so i get to sand that down tonight :grr: its been a while since ive done a model.

Re: Taisan Starcard 911 GT2

Thanks for the comments. I kinda stalled out on this project with not much else being done lately. But I've got a bit more motivation lately to finish this up. Hope to have an update this weekend. Thanks again for digging up this thread and getting me back on track.

Can't go wrong with the Tamiya GT2 kits. I have nearly fininshed the same base kit but with some of my own decals for another team. Its the second one I have made and will probibly make some more.

Re: Taisan Starcard 911 GT2

Looks like a wonderful paint and decal job
I have this kit but can't do it as the wheels and tyres were missing! Auction purchase and there's not much I can realistically do about it....shame, it's a great car so I will enjoy yours instead

Re: Taisan Starcard 911 GT2

Geez, I must be suffering from attention defecit these days... I can't seem to focus enough to sit down and finish anything. Nonetheless, I was able to get a bit more decaling done. Body-wise it's mostly done minus the side mirrors and antenna. Here's the latest progress shot for a project that should have ended months ago.

apologies for the low quality image.

fujiwara: I'll probably install the under tray, although as a removeable piece.
Again thanks everyone for the comments, it provides alot of motivation to get things done!

Love this car - have it and the other Tamiya race GT2 in my "to do" pile.

Can't wait to see it finished, excellent work!

Has there been any more progress on this one? This is such a great looking porsche!

Any tips for painting the rims?
