Re: big scale Ferrari F40

I did the Fujimi 1/16 kit

Overal a nice kit but have some fitting problem because of the age of the plastic (thin parts loose the shape) I think I paid 60$ for mine in sale on modelexpress (it's more now)

You can see mine here:

Re: big scale Ferrari F40

The 1/12 Revell F40, is very much just an enlarged 1/24 kit of modern quality, no brake details, solid wheel backings. Can look great if a lot of time is spent on fabricating parts. It sells for around £40 - 50 in the UK.

Re: big scale Ferrari F40

I have the 1/12 RoG F40 kit. Havent started it yet, but I have looked it over in detail. It has the right look to the body and about the same detail level as a 1/24 Revell kit. In my opnion, the kit has only two major failings, the tires are too small. The wheels are the right size, its just the tires that are wrong. The other is the seats. They look horrible. Fortunately, not too hard to scratchbuild. The tires are another story, however. I'm hot to get started on this build and am planning to make it into a track car with slick tires. I'll have a go at making new tires using wood or aluminum. Should be interesting. I dont have a read on the fit of the parts yet.

The Revell version is a reissue of the Protar kit. And the Protar kit is bad. Fit is terrible and detailing is disappointing. Protar have done much better 1:12 projects, but this one was not good.
