It doesn't look cheap to me, like most other snap kits...
Nice car!

Re: The Tamyia Porsche 911

this kit is a very good in accurency. all parts fit together so well, and, if you don't mind spending time on this simple model kit, go for it, it is a fun curb-side to build. however, simple doesn't mean easy, the paint-job is difficult, it required patient and good skill to make it look good. so, if you want to practise your painting skill, buy one to try, but, make sure you've got enough masking tape!

Looks good. There was a thread bitching about this model when it was released. Where are those people now? I for one will buy this model when I see it here.

That looks great to be a snap-kit! If you take the time to detail a snap-kit, they do look great!! Awesome job!!

Well, I was among the people who complained.

I'm still disappointed. The kit does look good, but it doesn't have an engine, it has a simplified interior, non-steerable front wheels and the chassis detail is all molded in one piece. Which is really a pity, because I know Tamiya can do a lot better than that!

I just was complaining because Tamiya keeps releasing curbside models lately... only their expensive model (for example Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo) have engines.

Sorry to steal the thread, owlmodel!

Very nice job. I finished mine a while ago and this is the only other I've seen on the forums.

Here's the link to mine:

Very nice, proves that this is one hell of a well-proportioned and engraved model. I've looked at the kit closely (a friend bought one) and can say you did a great job w/the one piece body, that was one hell of a masking job to get all the black parts painted cleanly, and the headlight surrounds masked/painted to match the body.

Very nice!

What shade is that?

I think simple kits make a nice change of pace from 'full detail' kits.
