Wiring up a 4 Channel AMP

I'm getting ready to hook my RF Punch 4020 DSM 4 channel amp. I'm not sure exactly how to hook it up.

I know I run the RCA's from the deck to the Amp.

I run a power cable from the battery, to the amp.

I run a Ground Cable from the Amp to the Car.

Now I have to run the speaker wire from the amp to the Speakers.

The Questions is???

Do I have to run the amp wires directly to the speakers, or can I run the wires to the wire that goes to that speakers. So instead of running a wire to each door, I can just run them all to the back deck and splice the amp cables to the speaker wire behind the deck.

What do you think??

Can I do that, or would it be better just to run it to all the speakers.... and why??

Thanks

yeah, you can just run the wire to the other wires and splice them. It would be better to run them all the way to the speaker just so you won't have to worry about having the spliced wire in there. But it would be a little easier to run it to the old wire, and that would work just fine. I would recommend going all the way to the speaker, but it will still work and sound about the same.

Yeah you can do both -- just make sure that you splice correctly and dont hook the amp outputs to the headunit outputs (coming directly out of the deck... you want to make sure you tap into the wire AFTER you cut it, leading to the speakers) But as Kicker said -- it would be better to run it to the speaker itself -- larger wire = better power flow = your amp works harder = better sound for doing nothing...

Ever take a look at how wimpy that stock wiring is? Ive known people that melt their headlight harnesses off 100 watt bulbs, and guess what -- thats the same size wire you are going to shoot 100 watts (maybe more?) of power through... take a guess whats going to happen?
