3 months ago I would have been cocky as hell but ever since I learned that my car could lose up to 25% power due to drivetrain loss and hence may at worst only put out 160awhp, I've been less confident.

So what do you think? My 3000lbs 210bhp AWD or his 260bhp 3600lbs RWD?? (his is an auto though).

We were chatting about it and I think I'd have him from a dig up to 60 since my car is at least 2 seconds faster. But after that, I dunno, maybe his superior horsepower would own me (from a roll that is).

Is it gonna be close or a no contest as I woulda thought 3 months ago.

Depending on how far of a stretch you guys plan on racing on will vary who will be the victor in your race. Say a 1/4 mile race. I'd give you the edge there. The AW launch is the main reason you'd take him. Plus your boosted, which is the other advantage you'd have over him. Although, from a roll I think he would take you. Another scenario, say if you raced up to like over a mile, then it's possible he'll take you. I'm not familiar with either cars, I'm just winging it. But, either way, my vote will go for you. L8...

1/4mile: 15.2@

Compared to my WRX
0-60: 5.4 sec
1/4mile: 14.1@96mph

As you can see, that Soarer really picks up near the top end.

ahhh you have a butter scotch yellow rex. anyways you should take him like nothing from a stop. of course that 14.1 is with the best driver you can be. with the average shmoe, a rex should run somewhere in the mid 14's which is still more then enough to take his automatic ass. from roll though, i wouldn't bet on anything. plus your car doens't have 210hp it has something like 225hp if i remember correctly. and averages around 170whp.

Well, He is gunna get you once you go over 60mph. He has a 5 speed automatic tranmission and decent gearing. If you guys have a 1/4 mile race you will win but anything over that and he will hand you your arse. your looken at 170 whp with a 5 speed manual he is looken at 230 whp with a 5 speed auto.

Maybe if you started with the sc300. I'd fix up the 4 liter v8 first. A 2jz is cool, but the idea of a turbo 1UZFE seems a lot more flattering to me.
