My friend with a 3.2 CLS had the "resonator" off of his car for a while after installing comptech exhaust. It did have a nice deep growl to it, but at top end it was getting pretty loud inside the car. (And that car has a lot of insulation) I put resonatior in quotations, only because that is what he told me he did, and I am taking his word for it. He has never pointed out where the resonator is located or it's exact function. He did have it put back on, and the car is quite a bit quieter now. Still sounds nice. I dunno how much that helps, every car is different. Just my two cents.
