ex swap
ok i know this might sound stupid but here goes. i have a painfully slow dx auto and want to swap it for an ex stick because i heard you can get engines really cheap and im really poor. can you tell me what all ill need to do it and some estimated costs? btw its a 00 coupe. any help will be appreciated.

You need more then just the motor and tranny, you are going to need all the little parts to make the manual transmission work in your car -- from what I hear its not a cheap thing to do either. Ive heard of places charging anywhere from $1000-$3000 for this! Personally, if I were you I would just sell the car and pickup an EX if that is what you want. Messing with auto to manual isnt giong to be fun... and even if you get it to work -- I cant imagine it would work anywhere as near as good as OEM... just my $0.02!
