Axles for b16 Swap
So I've seen people say you can use 90-93 teg axles, but then people say 87-89 teg's, and also companies make a hybrid axle of the two. Which is the best one to use? Thanks

it depends on which intermediate shaft you get..if you get teh s1/j1 int. shaft, you need to use 90-93 teg axles and you have to modify them a tiny bit(remove the dust seal and a small piece from the hub i think)
if you get the y1 shaft, you need the sir axles, which are custom made its explained in more detail here http://www.hasport.com/B16axles.htm |

thanks. I'm getting the y1 tranny. I think my swap is coming with the SiR axles, should I trust them to be in good condition or just make/buy the hybrid ones?

Amy dragged me here...

Well it "should" be in good condition ...i mean i don't think they will sell you bad axles unless they're rip offs.

Stock SiR axles will work. I gotmy swap with the S1 intermediate shaft and 90-93 teg axles. The axles were a tad long adn I even modified them like it was mentioned above. So I called up Marty at raxles.com and he built me brand new stage 1 hybrid axles. Just put them in today and they are sweet. But if your axles come in good condition I would just use them and not worry about the hybrid axles.

Yea, either use the 90-93 Integra axels or the true SiR axels. The 86-89 Integra axels are for the ZC.

I have the Y1 trans on my B16A, and the drivers side 86-89 axle worked on the drivers side, and one of the SiR axles that came with the motor worked on the passenger side.....how ever, when i make turns fast it kind of makes a sound like I'm dragging a roller skate on the ground.......
