91 CRX HF Axles for B16A swap

One of the automotive parts stores in my area has Si axles with 23 spline outboard joints. Can I use these axles instead of replacing my kunckles and hubs? If so, will they be strong enough or would I be better off changing the hubs, knucks, 26 splines all the way? The car is going to be primarily a commuter but will be raced occasionally.

They are pretty strong all the way and if your going to be mostly commuter don't worry about them. The only way so far I've seen half shafts break is by when people were dragging and popping the clutch for launching at the green light at a strip. You can race on them no prob, just don't pop the clutch when you do or any other time, it also breaks down the clutch too when you do it.

the crx si axles will not fit in a b16 tranny, your gonna need the axles that come with your swap, or check out www.raxles.com for some custom built ones.

you can find a 90-93 integra ls intermediate shaft and use the corresponding axles. you can buy the teggy axles from advance auto for $60ea with a lifetime warrenty.

Btw, seeing as how you have an hf, you might need to upgrade your huds to 89-91 Si ones. I am not completely sure on that though.

Will the axle still have to be modified when using the Teg ls intermediate shaft or is it bolt on from there on out? And your right about the hubs & knuckles.

Thanks for all the replies

Re: 91 CRX HF Axles for B16A swap

no, thats the thing. if you use the teg ls intermediate shaft, then you dont need to do that hybrid axle crap. you can just go to advance and pick up the ls axles.

You have to change your hubs, the HF's have pencildick axles, and hubs to match, get the teg's. You

They will physically fit inot the tranny, but you can't use them because A. they are too long, and B. they don't use a halfshaft like the B series, you can however mix and match inner and outer joints back and forth to create retarded hybrid axles that you could have just bought, I am babbleing, I'll stop now.
