1971 Datsun 240z RB25DET
After several years of on/off work this build is complete. It is not up to par with the fine work here on AF but I am excited to present it to my friend on his birthday. I wanted to build a replica of his '70 240z with an RB25DET drivetrain swap. I used the Hasegawa(body/interior) and Fujimi kits plus aftermarket bits. I tried to replicate everything visible in the engine bay like the valve cover, fuel rail, injectors, BOVs, vacuum lines, etc. Not 100% but works. I like the little touches that make the car special like the exhaust welds, decals, Porsche brakes, Recaro seats. Enjoy!

Re: 1971 Datsun 240z RB25DET
Looking good.
I bet your friend will be happy with this build. The engine bay looks great and just like the real thing. Did you have to do a lot of scratchbuilding here (don't know the Hase and Fujimi kits, so I don't know what's in there OOB). Paintjob looks great. Would be nice to see a picture of both cars together... |

Re: 1971 Datsun 240z RB25DET
Great to see this finished. I think the quality is right up there with the best builds on AF, and the fact that its a replica of a friends car puts the cool factor over the top.

A very smart build - I remember your WIP thread well & glad to see how well it turned out. Especially liking the comparison between 1:24 & 1:1

Very nice build! I've watched this in the w.i.p-section closely. I'm sure that Rob (that was the owner's name?) will be happy with it. Nice ride!

Re: 1971 Datsun 240z RB25DET
Not on par! That's bull. Great work! You really captured the look and feel of this car, and really did a GREAT job detailing it. One of the best models I've seen. Doing a detailed replica of a real 1:1 street car is a lot harder than it seems. Great work!!! Glad to see it done.
