Progress: Citroen Xsara street machine

Hi,

Here it is. I've finally started my Xsara project. Actually it's been on the table for over a month now. I've just been busy doing other non-modelling stuff.

First I want to thank Dave from Detail and Design in Scale! Without his huge help this project would not be possible for me. I can sincerely recommend Dave to everyone! The best service ever.

Anyway, it's a WRC -> Street conversion. A tribute to my own Xsara.

Some conversions planned:

Rear lights from S2000 Honda
Lowering (already done)
VeilSide wheels
Custom IC
NOS
Some ICE
CF Hood
SAS Brakes
SAS Sparco Corsa Seats

Here are two pics of it. Still in the beginning but slowly getting there...

Getting those S2000 lights fit in there is going to be a pain in the ass. I tried and right now I'm stuck. Don't know what to do. The holes are already cut in the right shape though.

Should it be lower? I think not...

I was thinking about painting it Candy Lime Green (Kawasaki Ninja Green) over gold...it might add the golden candy effect to the paint.

It's just that I'm not that familiar with that painting a color over another technique...

Anyway, here it is. Feel free to comment.

looking good. i dont think it needs to be any lower than that.

for painting...do many mist coats. until your desired hue is achieved.

I'm just clarifying that even though that Spanish Xsara has inspired me, my Xsara will NOT be an exact copy. I might have to change the color to red over gold because my planned color is so close to the one in the pics.

Anyway...we'll see what's going to happen. I'm really slow modeller and build only when I'm in the mood. I might have weeks between my modelling sessions...so expect slow progress

The front lights are going to be stock Phase 2 ones with slight modifications. For those who have no idea what Phase 2 headlights look like, just take a look at this years WRC Xsara. The Spanish Xsara is Phase 1.

Re: Citroen Xsara street machine

S2000 lamps look yummy on that car. That's a conversion that actually works. That's some serious ambition, good luck! This will be beautiful.
