O.K. O.K.-looks like bacon is back on the menu...

I may have told you guys previously about the fact that I used to own an 85 Trans Am (V8 baby!). My friend Mike and I have pretty close to identical cars, except his is red and mine was better.

Alright, so my buddy Mike and I are cruising the other night in his Trans. Just driving along, nothing special for a Wednesday night. Mike's car is pretty fast, of course the V8 is the factor in this, and he pretty much can blow most cars on the strip away without a problem. That's what I had loved most about my old Tranny. Good times...(sniff)

Moving on. So we were at the strip flipping a biotch after passing the light just to catch the red. So we are sitting at the light and we hear this freaking loud car come rumbling next to us. Man oh man. This had to be the most gorgeous piece of muscle I have seen. Just picture this:

Black 2002 Trans Am. Huge ram air hood with what looked like a custom white firebird on the hood. 20" Chrome wheels, and exhausts that would blow you mommas sunday dress off with the slightest push of the gas.

So Mike, being the cocky bass that he is, revs his car like crazy. Now we couldn't see inside the car, the tint was extremely dark. So we waited for him to rev back, or give us some sign that he wanted to race. Nothing, just the low grumble of his exhaust. Mike looked over at me and rolled his eyes, "What a puss." I just shrugged and admired the car.

Anyway the light turns green and Mike speeds ahead. So we continue to cruise, I'd say we had to be going about 60 mph on a 50. Then that same Trans Am, came roaring by us, then slow itself to our pace. Mike just smiled from ear to ear, dropped it into 3rd and waited. Soon enough, three honks and Mike takes off. To our amazement Mike pulls ahead of him without the slightest hesitation. So as Mike is focused on the path ahead, I'm looking back to even see if this dude is actually racing us.

Before we know it, the Trans rolls behind, and yes sir, you guys know what happened next. Blue and Red flashed. WTF!!! This was a cop! So we pulled over in hurry. Oh it was so lame. But, Mike and the cop had a good discussion about each others Trannys. Oh well. I should have noticed the license plate with the EX on the end of it, but what can you do. Well, atleast I wasn't the one who got the ticket. Heheheh... Alright, Late....

Most beautiful muscle car you've ever seen and it has 20 inch chrome rims? Muscle cars and 20 inch chrome rims don't go together. Ricer. It was probably a V6 firebird.

Yeah, I don't mind if some muscle has a bit of Bling to it. And seriously, it had a v8 to it. Besides it was an '02. It looked damn good with those rims. Don't get bent about it. Jeeeezzzz. Late...

Had a V8 to it? What makes you think that? The rims? It's usually people with slow cars that put 20 inch chrome rims on there to feel better about themselves. I don't know anyone who'd want to make a fast car so much slower by putting 20 inch chrome rims on it.

I don't know who started those damn bacon threads (me I guess). Whatev. Just ran into the some trouble lately. I've been pulled over 6 times in the past month for the most unbelievabe reasons. If you don't car I let you know, but it has just been a hassle dealing with cops around here. The stupidest reason for being pulled over: for changing the shape of me tail lights. They have to be stock... Yeah, pretty lame.

TypeS. If you read the whole story you would have caught the part where I said Mike and the Cop talked about their Trans Ams. I was sitting right there in the passenger seat, and he said he had a V8 in there. Believe or not, but I don't feel like arguing over this with you. I just came to tell a little story. So what if he has 20's on his car. I'm pretty sure it's still damn fast. And it looks good going fast. Well, I'm not here to make enemies, just to tell good stories for those interested. Late...

I have been waiting to hear something like this happen. I've seen the police using normal everyday looking cars here in Utah. I was just waiting to hear that they're starting to use cars like that to catch people like us.

I don't agree with them doing that, it is like they are instigating the crime and they are just as guilty as you are. t

Seriously. But, it's a good thing I drive a Civic. Hahaha...But I have been pulled over for unbelievable reasons. There are tons of cars out there with custom tail lights, but I get pulled over for mine! Oh well, I switched back to stock. But that is so unfair with cops using average, or even slightly pimped cars, to their advantage of catching us. Oh well, I do know several cars to look out for that I've noticed. Got their license plates memorized so if I see it I know when to keep a slow pace. If you ever need to know what to look out for just ask. I can give you about 5 cars that are in the Provo/Orem area. Late...

I drive a 92 'vette, and I changed my tail lights. I'm sure you know that a Corvette has 4 Round tail lights. I changed the 2 outside ones to chevy bowties. They've been this way for about 6 months now, and I havn't had problems with the cops yet. Are they illegal?

In all honestly I don't think a cop can give you a ticket for that, unless you iniate the race. I brought this same exact scenario up in my criminal psychology class a few years back and my teacher(a cop of 20 years) told me that if the cop iniates the race and gets you to race when you otherwise wouldn't have its entrapment and they can't do anything. But if you iniate the race(as it seems your buddy mike was doing) the cop can write you a citation. Dunno, but this this is just my .

Re: O.K. O.K.-looks like bacon is back on the menu...

yes cops can do that, as long as they dont instigate the race. Which is the reason he didnt rev back at you. But the fact that he speed up to you and go even with you like he was instigating a race is wrong. YOu might be able to fight that in court as entrapment. BUt i wasnt their and dont know the whole situation.

As for all the bacon threads, grow up kids. I hate people who disrespect the police. You have no idea how important they are to you, yet you treat them like shit. If their werent any cops youd prolly be dead by now. Im going into law enforcement so i have alot of respect for them. While i dont always agree with them, im not gonna put them down for it. And can you honestly be mad at them for picking on street racers? I mean look at that stupid 15 year old kid who wants to street race, do you really want him doing 100MPH down the same streets that you drive on? What we do is illegal, so why be mad at the cops for doing their job?
