I have a '91 Dakota 5.2 with 118k miles. Compression is 140-145 on all cylinders. Computer, all sensors, timing chain, plugs, wires, caps, starter and battery are all new. When the timing is set at 10 degrees BTDC as specified, it hesitates, stutters, and backfires when accelerating. Advancing the timing 6 or 8 degrees improves things considerably. Any ideas on what might cause this? Thanks for any help.
