So you are buying a an SR5....make sure you don't pay more then 1g for it.No matter what condition it is in.People these days are over charging for these damn cars since the huge drift scene hit,, among other things like initial D.

I just recently purchased a 86 gts hatch. No motor or tranny but the body was in flawless condition.....paid just 400 bucks. On it's way overseas right now is a 4AGZE motor which will be installed this summer. It's a project me and a buddy have been planning for 2 years now and finally found a good condition shell to throw the motor in.When were are finished, it will be putting down 200HP from the stock supercharger and you will be seeing me fly by WRX's.......not sti's...just wrx....

Re: Should I...

Dopeness, JoeBowlr21.... I always wanted a Hachi! What you are doing is a great idea! I can't seem to find a Corolla for under $3K lately, however... I'm thinking of buying a Mazda 323 now... they make great RALLY cars!

driftkid! Be careful of partners when it comes to auto projects! I have known a few that have combined money with friends to start projects and they go terribly wrong! I'm not saying it's gonna happen but just make smart and split it all down 50/50....

Yea, the price for a good condition GTS these days are like 3-6 grand depending who's selling it.I've known about the gts shell i got forawhile since it was about 4 blocks away just sitting in some old ladies driveway.I always asked if she wanted to sell it even though it doesn't have a motor but she said she didn't have any of the papers.Till recently she called me up and asked if i was still interested, apparently her grandson had the papers and gave them to her a just the other day.I've had the car in my possesion for about a month but couldn't do anything with it till i was sure i was able to get the papers to make it mine.It has a clean history with no accidents. The motor and tranny were pulled by her son who had a similiar car, she didn't mind because she didn't drive anymore.

Re: Should I...

I dont really think anyone near me knows why the hell i'd want an old corolla.

The main reason why im asking you guys is i dont know if its worth it; seeing as how i already have the fc, but i thought if i worked on it with a friend, i'd have enough to do both.

btw, what is the difference between an SR5 and a GT-S? This one's got the pop-up lights. I only know engine and chassis codes for toyotas and not much else. thanks all.

Re: Should I...

Joebowler21, you should do an S2000 swap...hahhahahhaha...possible. My uncle use to have an AE86, but its all rusted up in his backyard. Its fun practicing the drift technique in it tho...
