my exhaust problems... i think

ok. my car is making a funny noise (how nice of it to do so). if i'm at like 3000 rpm i hear it the most. its like an extra little purring sound. if i'm coasting along in like 2nd or 3rd kinda slow or whatever and the revs are coming down i can hear it really good. at idle rpm i got out and listened under the car. there seems to be a noise coming from the image attached below. and click this link for a small video.

http://www.plex.nu/temp/video/MOV00009.MPG

remember its NOT anything rattling. its a sort of purring noise. and its coming from the part of the pipe in this picture...

towards the right side i think.

any help is appreciated. exhaust leak is what i think

Maybe youve got a dead mouse bouncing around in there or something . Dead mice have been known to purr....

are you really serious? wouldn't it burn up? or get pushed out? i dunno if that was supposed to be a joke.. but i'm wondering if it could be that or a leak.

i would say obviously check for holes in the actual metel itself. next to that check the donut gaskets that are at the junctions of intersecting pipes.

Well it was meant to be a joke, but now that I think of it, one of my buddies had a dead mouse in his airbox on his intake. He came to discover it when he installed his CAI. I guess it would be possible that a mouse could climb in the pipe, but I think it would get really smelly, especially with the exhaust heat, so I'm guessing there isn't a mouse, but I hope you find out whats wrong cause that sound was funky.

Hey i had the same problem when i had my muffler put on. They did a shitty job welding and it was leaking. It made the same sound you describe. So definently check for a leak that is probably correct.
