what size exhaust for the wrx is too big?
does anyone know what size uppipe downpipe and exhaust is ideal for the impreza wrx? i think 3 inches is good and i want to trash all the cats on it but i don t know if it will kill all the back preasure for the turbo to spool? If anyone knows holla at me please?

Yeah. 3" is fine. Most high flow cats you will not gain ANY (!) performance by removing, so why not help the environment and keep it on? Get extractors, high flow cat, glass pack muffler.

Pipe size
Pipe size really doesn't matter TOO much after the Turbo as far as being TOO Large. Most racing applications are running 3" downpipes and 3" exhaust. Most street applications use 2 1/2 from the cat-back if you run the stock cat. Be careful ahead of the cat. If not set up properly it can make the sensors go funny.
