Steering Column Damage after theft
My 89 Chevy Silverado was stolen a few weeks ago. We ended up finding it stripped and with some damage to the steering column. For a while I was able to start it by digging my finger in there....but now that's not working either (I guess something else snapped). Anyway, I've gotten a few estimates for repairs and some even mentioned a whole repair kit.
I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone out there has any recommendations, or has anyone out there ever used these kits? Do they come with a majority of the parts I may need and instructions on how to install? Thanks in advance for any assistance. -Mark |

Re: Steering Column Damage after theft
get a used comumn from a junkyard. i'd put in a new ignition switch and a new lock cylinder your dealer will key the lock cylinder to match your existing keys. you might want to invest in an alarm so this doesn't happen again.

Re: Steering Column Damage after theft
I 2nd the above however if they just screwed up the cyl. lock, just buy a new set. They are pretty easy to replace. I done it plenty of times.
