i dont think I saw this

I know a performance exhaust system will usually make your car louder, but my question is on a long ride does that loudness get annoying? The reason is I might drive my car from northern New York to South Carolina in the summer. Again, forgive me if this has already been asked.

For those of us with eardrums, it gets annoying. Especially on the freeway, there's that constant hum.. Streets are fine though. You'll probably get used to it over time which means you've just got desensitized. At least I'm looking forward to going turbo which should quiet down the exhaust quite a bit.

Re: i dont think I saw this

Most exhaust system manufacturers sell a baffler or silencer. But if you get an exhaust system you like, it probably wont get annoying. Get a Greddy. Ive heard those are super-quiet. Don't get the pacesetter. Ive heard those are very loud and annoying.

Re: i dont think I saw this

many have said N1s are very loud on N/As. My N1 is pretty quiet i think. I drive around and not too many people look. I say as long as you don't drive around at WOT, you should be ok. Tickets are not a problem.

Re: i dont think I saw this

ok, thanks. Right now I'm in the stage of deciding which exhaust to get. My choices are the N1, Flowmaster 60 series, and some others. They're on top for a few reasons. The N1 for obvious reasons. The Flowmaster for a few personal reasons. When the guy on the flowmaster tech line explained to me the 60 series, it seemed just what I had in mind. Thanks for everyone's help.

Re: i dont think I saw this

well, when I talked to the tech line, they told me that's what fit my car, and when he described how it was it sounded like what I want.

Re: i dont think I saw this

sounds good, I think i'm gonna go with the Apex'i anyways. To anyone who's heard it, is it really loud, or not? I don't want anything too loud.
