Couple of questions..1990 Dodge Shadow
This is a first for me...When i get the car to around 40 KM/PH the engine sounds like it is running at 4000 rpm or higher (not straining just running high). But the display registers 2000 or so. It is an automatic transmission. Driving an 1990 Dodge Shadow. Any ideas?
Secondly, I am having an internmittent transmission issue when in drive. It usually happens after stopping at a light/stop sign and starting again, feels like it slips into neutral and back into drive on its own. Sometimes on an incline it will do the same thing. I have refilled the trans fluid which seems to have lessened the problem a little, but it is still happening. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks. |

Let me guess, you have a 3.0L V6 in that car? If so that means you have the A-604 automatic as well. It sounds like your transmission needs a rebuild. I would get it to the dealer and have it looked at.

Actually it is a 2.2L 4 Cylinder...probably doesn't change anything though does it...

Really?!
In that case you have an A-413, much better than the A-604. However, it still sounds like the tranny needs a rebuild. I would go to the junk yard and see if you can find another one with low mileage on it. |
