93 Dodge Shadow Fuse and General Speaker Questions
I got 2 questions:
For a background on question 1, my car didn't have a stereo, so I gave it back to the guy who I bought it from and he put a stereo in. Now, I know for a fact the speakers are miswired. The power wire might also be that way. But when I have my stereo in and turn on my headlights it blows the tail running light fuse. Which in turn takes out my rear lights. Then I have to replace the fuse. So is the radio power miswired, or is it not getting grounded? Is the fuse too small? Any ideas how I could go about fixing this? And my second question is about speakers. I have no back speakers and to my knowledge stock speakers in the front. I have been ofered prety good rear speakers by a friend and would dearly like to accept them and put them in. But it has come to my knowledge that I have to look at ohms and stuff like that to make it work. So I assume I can't mix and match speakers (the front 2 are the same and the back 2 would be the same) any input on this as well? Thanx much |

from what your saying it sounds like the guy tapped into the tail-lights for a power wire, which would provide power, but not enough for both tail lights and stereo, if i were you, i would either try to get my money bak and get a different car, have no stereo, or bring the car to a professional and see whats going on
in regards to your rear spaekers, any 5X7 inch speaker will work, in order to put the new ones in you will have to do this: -take out pakage shelf -take out side panels(in between seat and door, fold seat down) you have 2 boltson the bottom (bottom cusion may have to come out, 2 botls underneat the front edge of it) the the whole piece lifts straight up and out -remove upper seat belt bolt -remove trunk seal -remove trunk side panels, a few philips screws -take out speaker cover panels(there should be a metal bracket in which to mount the speakers to, if not, you won't be able to continue -with the way things are going for you, you'll either have to route your own speaker wires or make ends for the ones there(if they're there) -put everything back together after checking if they work hope things turn out ok for you |
