anti theft

on a 1996 pontiac grand am after you change the pass lock do you have to program the comp to accept the new switch.if so does anyone know the code to put in. thank you

All you do is leave the key in the on position for 10 min. This will relearn the code so the car will start. What I did was hooked up the battery charger so the battery didn't go dead...mike...
P.S. Make sure the theft light quits flashing...
