95 tahoe battery/starter problems
I bought my 95 tahoe about 4 months ago with 131k miles on it and it has run perfectly so far. I just had my stereo system put into my truck and a few days after when i tried to start her the starter just clicked, I checked the remote switch on my amp and deck and it is working fine so i dont think that is draining any power. Whenever I try to start her the starter just clicks and if I wait a few hrs and try again she starts up. It didn't just happen once and I didn't leave any lights on any of the times so I have no idea what to think about it. any ideas?

check your battery connections for crud. check connections to starter solenoid. could be solenoid is just plain wore out.

Re: 95 tahoe battery/starter problems
had similar problem !! don't just clean connections !! Replace the positive side cable(s) with new (it saves more headaches later) and be very careful not to strip out the battery connection ! by the way if you take care of it it will last another 100,000 miles mine has 220,000 and never been worked on other than reg maint.

Re: 95 tahoe battery/starter problems
car stereos can easily draw more current than your alternator puts out to charge your battery. I would turn off your stereo a few munutes before you turn off your engine so your battery has a chance to charge back up.
