need a remote starter

hi. i need a remote starter for my car. i have a 99 teg ls manual turboed with a turbo timer. the remote starter shouldn't affect my timer at all, right? what is a good dependable brand with a clutch bypass that i can get that has good range? i had a viper remote starter on my auto civic and i could start it from 100 yards open. my buddy had one with like a mile range with one of those fancy lcd remotes but he dropped it once and the face bled and he had a hard time replacing it. i dont know if the range was actually 1 mile, but it said it was.

btw, i'll need alarm/keyless entry too.

People say the Comustar ones are the best but the ones I installed I did not care for. I personally like the the ones from DEI. You know, the ones that made your Viper. They are getting ready to ship new ones with 2-way LED instead of the screens for durability and $$ savings.

Not sure. They are in the brochures but I just tried to order one on Friday with no luck. They said they are not shipping yet

Why not? EVERY car has a nuetral safety switch in it. It usually only goes into the BCM. With a Haynes manual, you should be able to find it. If not, just use a tilt/motion sensor to kick off the RS if it detects movement.

Because if you leave it in gear, the car will leave you unless it hits what ever's in the way

Re: need a remote starter

Well, I'm sure that they make ones that will bypass the clutch being pushed in as how it would normally be done by the driver, but why wouldn't they have thought about starting only when it's not in gear, then bypassing the clutching process??

Good question. I was told that there actually is that sensor on all cars. It is just like motorcycles. If that's true, it would work flawlessly. Unfortunately, I am too busy and have not had many request to do starters on manual cars to warrant me to look into this.
