Just bought 97 J30, now what do I do??

I just bought a 97 J30 and I was wondering what I should do in terms of taking care of it? Should I flush out the fluids and put in some kind of special fluid to make it better? I know about flusing the transmission with Mobil 1 Synthetic and installing a transmission cooler, but is there anything else I should do to make it perform betterm, last longer, get better gas mileage, or have more horse power?

I really don't know anything about cars so any advice would be great!
