So your telling him to pay 1900 for manual or 2500 for automatic doors with a generic kit. www.importprecision.com sells theirs for 1500 and its specificaly engineered for the 3S platform.

The importprecision kit is on a few cars on 3si, only one has reported a problem that was fixed in a day. The shocks that were sent to him were defective. The importprecision kit can open normally or lambo style depending on how you open your door.

The install process is as follows:
Remove bumper and side skirt so the fender can be removed.
Remove fender
Remove door
Make a small cut so the new braket fits.
Install braket and door
Put fender, side skirt, and bumper back on.
Average joe can do this in a weekend. And the kit even comes with deailed instructions with full color pictures.

If you would like to spend more for a generic product you can have fun with that, but I know where my money is going in the spring.

Lambo doors only look good on a lambo.

Thanks, that's helpful and very relevant to his question.

But, ya a few people that I'm aware of have the Import Precision kit and they all have basically nothing but good things to say.

The guys that have installed our kit all did it in their garage. It took me about 10 hours for both sides.

The record right now is 6 for the first, 4 for the second. One guy did it by himself, but I had a few friends over helping. Doing the alignment isnt hard, but it helps to have someone holding the door while you tighten down the bolts.

We make our kits only for the car.... no "universal" kits you need to make fit. You do not need to drill, weld or cut our kits.

Hey deft_spyder,

I've been drowling over the lift kit for awhile now... very nice, but i have a question for you. Can you explain or describe some more regarding how you open the doors oem and vertical when you are inside and outside the car. What action do you take to make the door open the way you want? Thanks
