Question Vertical door kits (also called Lambo door kits)

I seen these on eBay recently and went *wowzers... cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllll lllllllllllllllll*... anyone have any experience with them - specifically - problems with the kits, installation, leaks and fittage? I am currently looking into these and hoping to find a manufacturer who makes one for my 1988 accord LXi

No experience, but looks like of funky and if those doors are full up already, doesn't look like much room to get in or out.

Just weird to me.

I worried as well about entry and exit clearances. I searched over the web for all lambo door kits looking for any that showed more than that frontal side view so I could better see how much clearance there actually was. I should have bookmarked the site but I found one site that had an actual quicktime movie of the mod. it is a bit tight but not unworkable...
Funky? yes, def different.. a way to add a uniqueness to your ride. I still havent made a decesion of whether to get it or not, and thankfully, that decesion has been put off as I am now searching for a cheap a20a3 motor for my 88 accord LXi as my rod bearings are going, and functionality always takes precedence over prettiness

I have never seen them on any 4 door car...EVER. However I'm sure someone somewhere has custom fabricated them on something...but IMO, I think it would look extremely ridiculous.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

The thing with the lambo doors is that they don't just open straight up, the ones that I encountered open regular a couple of inches and then they go up. There is enough space to easily get in and out of them, on the RSX that I used them on, and I am not a small guy.

Mojeans69, do you have pictures of your car with the doors? It would be interesting seeing the RSX with those doors. I could see how it would fit that car perfectly.

Wasn't my car, but an old friend of mine I'll see if I can get a couple of pics from him.

Lambo doors seem really played out. I feel like I'd get more laughs than looks of admiration. But I guess it's a matter of personal preference.

Re: Vertical door kits (also called Lambo door kits)

about those who have ventured to do a four door lambo door conversion, it has been done before. a guy named BIG ROB the JEWELER has done it to his escalade. you can find pipctures of it on CarDomain i believe. YEs it did look really funky but did catch my eye.
