Cigarette prices!

What the FUCK!!! its now costin me $5.76 a pack at the cheapest place!! Why the fuck are us smokers targeted for these crazy taxes! Why not tax the fuck out of McDonalds, maybe we'll have less fatasses around!

Christ! Smokes should be no more than 2.50 a pack. Hell American cig's in EUROPE were 2.50, so they should be 2.00 here. I'm so pissed off. Yeah so what if it kills me and destroys my lungs and it doesn't smell too great. ITS MY FUCKING DECISION! I already can't smoke within 100 miles of anyplace "public", some little shit towns around ehre I can't even smoke on the sidewalk! I shouldn't get punished for something that's perfectly legal! Talk about taxation without representation!

I'm so fuckin pissed. Of course not many people will agree with me and say "good riddance" to smokes, but if you REALLY want us to stop, just ban the damn things. And that still won't make us stop.

Man. I'd LOVE to see the shitstorm that would start if the gov't starting taxing the FUCK out of anyone driving anything other than an econobox (but sports cars and SUV's use so much gas! and they kill people! Why not?!!), but when it comes to ripping ME off for my smokes, everyone just looks the other way.

So here's a big FUCK YOU! to anyone who agrees to this stupid government bullshit!

I had no idea......

I chew gum, it's my vice like smoking is yours.....about 3 packets a day of Wrigleys, that's the packets out of those 8-pack strips that cost $1.69 at Walmart.

The day gum costs more than a pack of cigs, I'll think about smoking.

There is a reason for it- and its basic economics really- on fact it should be damn common knowledge- Cigarettes have (Negative) externalities- this generally means that they affect a third pary outside of the seller/consumer purchase (ie- Passivesmoking, tax-dollar healthcare costs for keeping smokers alive etc.........) hence they must be taxed to a more desireable point where society wants them.............Sure there are other things that aren't taced enough- but taxing cigarettes makes more than enough economic sense in the long run...............For those of us who DON'T smoke............

bah fuck that man. All that extra money is going into someone's pocket, and it isn't mine Plus, i already pay (medically) for this by having to pay higher health insurance premiums. So there!

Either grow your own Tobacco, or stop smoking - it's not like smoking is good for anything anyway (except wasting time and money)

Or you could always go to Mexico, and get really cheap cigarettes that aren't pumped full of life-shortening chemicals designed to make you more complacent to the government by giving you a chemically induced lobotomy. Well, normally i roll american spirits (additive free... that's why it goes bad in like 2 weeks), but it's hard to find a store around here that sells tins of tobacco, and my rolling machine bit the dust. But still... it's the principle!

Why'd you start? That's what I don't understand...I mean, you KNOW they are addicting, and once you're addicted the gov'm't and tobacco companies have you in the palm of their hand. They could raise prices to $30 a pack and smokers would still find a way to buy. It's like putting handcuffs on and handing the key to Big Tobacco and the gov'm't.

The thing that makes ME mad about all of this is how my tax $$ are paying to SUBSIDIZE the tobacco farmers, and then paying AGAIN for those stupid self-righteous TV anti-smoking ads and I DON'T EVEN USE THE DAMNED THINGS.
