Cool newbie/ jeep cherokee/timing belt change etc

hello jeep forum regulars. i am new owner of an 88 jeep pioneer sport 2wd 6cyl auto (for wife)and i love the ride. the po hasnt given me an exact or approximate mileage on the last change of the timing belt but i am using old reciepts to guess 40k . whats the safe life of the belt? the jeep seems solid but has areas that need tlc..new lock cyl for drivers side,
valve cover gasket seeps, the breather hose to same is seeping at the valve cover, starts fine but not as quick as i would like, emerg brake handle comes up farther than i think it should, fluids in rear end trans to name a few.

also i dont have even an owners manual or haynes yet. i looked on ebay but all i have seen is a haynes for four models cherokee commanche cj wagoneer but not one just for the cheerokee mid to late 80's. is there such a book?

also i need to get distrib cap rotor filters the breather connector that plugs into valve cover....any suggestions for online suppliers?

ok i have asked more questions than i should but input expertise and restrained ridicule welcome! tia
