Brake Lights Wont Go Off????!!!!!!!!!

Can somebody please help......my brake lights wont go off so now the battery is disconnected until I figure out what the problem is....any help would be nice...thanks


Its an '87 Caprice LS...305

Check the switch that attaches to the brake pedal. That would be the first place to check.

Mine had that EXACT problem. The threaded portin of the switch became stripped, and eventually came back far enough to where the lights were on all the time. Also I noticed that my brake pedal was sagging closer and closer to the floor. *sigh, guess it's time to order a new master cylinder.....

Thanks for that bit of info. It becomes a lil stressful when you wanna just go in the house and go to sleep and your brake lights decide to stay on like stop lights all night.....anyway...THANKS!!!....
