Question Rides worse than a lumber wagon

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer and the ride is very rough. I had it into a shop and was told the problem was caused by the torsion bars not being adjusted correctly. Is this a known problem with the Explorer and if so what needs to be done to correct the problem. When the mechanic was pushing on front of vechile there was no response to it. Any idea on how to improve the ride, just had new shocks installed which did not help.

Re: Rides worse than a lumber wagon

You can get different torsion bars on the front installed that are softer and don't have as much spring. This should improve your ride.
