Cool Rescue 911! Porsche Cabriolet finished

This was built as a Christmas present for one of my friends. He "built" one like it on the Porsche website to his ultimate specifications; then a month later one just like it showed up at the local dealer. Sweet color combo, and it sold very quickly. It's a basic Italeri Porsche 911 Cabriolet, I just started it late Saturday and it's definitely a "quickey", no extra detail and I cheated/cut corners on a few items . Paint is Tamiya pure white, interior airbrushed in a darkish blue acrylic (Tamiya). Rims were robbed from a Maisto diecast 911, modified to fit the Italeri suspension. I hogged out some XS Tuning brake discs to fit as well. Pretty basic kit, no major problems encountered, looks nearly as good as a Tamiya, and in fact some areas look better (headlight lenses and seats). I think it turned out pretty decent, and I'm halfway finished w/a second one that got painted at the same time. It's the same car, same interior, but painted Tamiya pearl light blue. I think I may prefer the white...

Thanks! Dunno, it's Wayne's model now! I'll probably be judging at that show, so I'm not planning on entering anything. If I end up not judging, I may show the light blue one I'm working on now.

Beautiful finish! love the 911 in white.

Rims from diecast model. that's a good idea, I've never thought of it.

Wow!
That looks absolutely stunning !

Love the choice of the rims, I might have to do the same, as the ones in the kit really are dispiccable.

Looks super in white, as beforementioned!

Thanks for sharing...

Lovely clean build Funnily enough I was in a toy shop earlier today and noticed how many diecasts and toy cars have really cool wheels on them Good thinking!
