Jeez. What color are you painted them? The center console will be easy. Scuff it up with some real fine sandpaper, like 200 grit. Now wash it off with soap and water to get rid of any residue that may conflict with the paint. And tape off what you don't want to be painted. Now put on like 3 or 4 THIN THIN THIN coats of primer, don't try to go fast and put a shit load on at once or else you'll get runs and it will look like shit and runs are a bitch to fix. Let each coat dry fully before applying the next. Now do the same for the color you want to paint it, be even more carefull with this. And after all of that is done, I would personally clear coat it, some people say not to do this, but I would, protects it from scatches and stuff.

I did this when I was like, 16 and it turned out ok, but now I'm in the process of just getting all new plastic, that came stock Black. I would recomend doing the same, unless you want some "custom color"....

How about an eggroll to go with your rice interior? Oh well to each his own. Good luck. They also make a plastic prep.

I've heard good things about Krylon fusion if you want the spray paint type other wise use automotive grade witha flexible plastic primer.

Re: Painting interior

what i did was just scuffed it w/ 500 sandpaper, cleaned it reallly well w/ alcohal, sprayed it w/ adheasion promoter, then about 5 thin coats of krylon semi flat black spray paint. and i found out its a perfect black for interior, not shiny but not too dull and looks damn nice when you put some of that interior cleaner shit on it.!

Re: Re: Painting interior

I wouldnt do it unless you are gonna go all out, i painted my interior white long time ago because I thought it was cool then got sick of it really fast and realized how retarted it looked in my car, I ended having to buy all new a/c vents, handles, rearview mirror, steering wheel and windshield wipers, trust me it will get old quick and become an eyesore.

Personally, I think it just depends on the color. If you get something that stands out too much from the other interior of the car it will eventually get to you. But i think black or grey looks fine. I plan on doing my speaker cover, door handles (maybe), and coin tray black to match my new seats.

But I agree in that some colors look tackey....

I still have no chips or scufs on mine. It's been on for over 10 months.
It does get hella dirty. But if your only doing them black you shouldent have a problem with that.
Use KRYLON FUSION or nothing at all

Krylon is the brand Fusion is the product line.

I personally am fiberglassing my entire dash (cause I'm molding in a screen and some speakers too) and will be painting it the same color as the exterior of my car when I get the car repainted (Superior Blue Metallic Clearcoat)
