ecu question HELP!!!

my friend has a 99 ex coupe single cam vtec i just came up on a obd2 99 civic si b16a2 ecu can anyone tell me if this will clip into his car and work? and if it will what will it do for his car??? thanks

no I don't think it will and also I don't think the 99ex motor has a knock sensor and the ecu will go into llimp mode without the knock sensor unless you program a chip and disable the knock sensor settong but still I think if it does plug in it will do nothing but loose hp

y do you think it would lose horsepower... well we put it in and it moved his redline to 8300 rpms dont know if it made him quicker but he said it doesnt feel slower

Because he fuel and ignition maps are programed for a motor that breathes better and needs more fuel, so now your motor is probably running rich, but you can't tell but it is loosing power. The extra fuel is no good if you cannot use it
