Chirping gears?

Hi,

Im usually not the type that likes to chirp gears in my car.
But today I was in da mood and I chirped 2nd gear.
Got up to just as it hit redline and jammed it into gear chirping 2nd gear.
It is the only gear I can succesfully chirp with the D15.
My question is is it bad for your car?
I know when u drag race u pretty much have to chirp.
some poeple told me it is bad some told me its ok if u dont do it too much.

any driving hard is not necessarily good for your car, so in theory, this isn't good for your car and can wear it down much faster if you do this a lot. Of course I drive my car like this every day and it went a long time without anything wrong with it, then the axle assembly started going out and it ended up breaking a lot of shit. This probably wouldn't have happened if I would drive my car properly.

It messes up the synchros (spelling?) in the trans, and will wear the gears. The synchros make the gears spin at the same speeds when they come together, so they align right. By doing that, you are putting alot more strain on them and the gears, and eventually, its gonna break.

What are the mods? B/c it takes alot of torque to chirp 5th and I know that you did not do it with the D15.

I think the only way you could get any sort of chirp out of it would be to have it in 5th, already rolling, rev it up to the redline, and dump the clutch....even then, I doubt it, there's just not enough torque, and I think you'll find that in most cars.

HAHA.. You chirped 5th with those mods? What, on spares in the snow?
Who's gonna buy that? I can't even chirp 4th in my car and I'm making considerably more power than you.

Man give it up my integra with all my mods and a 75hp shot of nitrous (wet kit at that) will only chirp 3rd. And I know that I am making at least twice the hp and trq you are.

And how fast is your car running at the higher end of 4th gear? You have enough power to break the tires loose and chirp them going that fast? That's real power, guys.
