LS Vtec help

i got a 95 Integra LS. Im going to make it an ls Vtec, buts its an automatic. I was wondering if it will still be fast. But on a personal question i reeeally want to know if i will be able to beat a 96 eclipse rs stick. And im really set on doing this and not a engine swap for now. so please help. Thanks
