I drive a 2001 Honda Civic HX with CVT and have clocked it 0 - 60 at
8.1 sec. -------- Is this real? What kind of 0-60 times would be expected from the 5spds? What about from an EX?

Did you use a G-Tech?
Sorry to disappoint but they aren't the most accurate things in the world... |

It's not hugely off the 0 - 60 listed. I thought it was something like 8.8 seconds or something, but I dunno. Can anyone else find out?

Don't know of any info sources to either prove nor disprove, but 8.1 sounds awfully low. ...Certainly would be nice though!

Sorry for the confusion. For the record, I wasn't driving the car, I quoted the statement from a post somewhere else. It just seemed pretty low to me, especially for an HX.
